As a community organization that is so very reliant on community donations for support, we know that it is essential that Interfaith Food Bank is committed to making the most of our resources. This goes much further than recruiting canned goods and volunteer labour, and expands into the very manner in which we function as a society.
Our mission statement is “to recognize the human dignity of those in need and to provide food and access to services and resources generated from within our community.” Often, there are ways for community members to contribute to our mandate by allowing us to re-use items that might otherwise go to waste. The food bank encourages community members to think of Interfaith Food Bank before they dispose of something we might be able to make use of!
