Where it grows: Saokiipisatsiinikimm, also known as Prairie Funny Vine, grows in the open prairie and at the boundaries of brushy spots. The plant appears to be nodding from June to August when the flowers bloom, and it seems a little unusual to see it shake its head back and forth in the breeze.
How to identify: The leaves of Saokiipisatsiinikimm are soft and grass like. The flowering stalks are 1 to 2 feet tall and bend over so that the clusters of pink or white flowers nod towards the ground.

Raw consumption and seasoning were practised with the bulbs and leaves. (Blackfoot)
