Purchase an annual membership to formalize your support and to be “in the know” with important news and updates.  Ensure your voice is heard in the decisions that determine overall direction of Interfaith Food Bank Society of Lethbridge.

Membership Privileges/Rights

Members privileges/rights are as follows:

  1. Eligibility to apply for nomination to the Board of Directors (elected from membership).
  2. Attendance at Board meeting
    •  Members at large may request permission to attend Board meetings, they may speak at the meeting but do not have voting privileges. Members at large will be excused when the Board is in camera or confidential agenda items are being discussed.
  3. Attendance at the Annual General Meeting (AGM)
    • Members at large have the right to receive a notice of meeting and to attend the AGM.
    • Members at large have the right to speak to AGM agenda items and to vote on any motion at the AGM.
  4. Membership on Board Committees
    • Members have the right to request and may be approved as members of Board Committees.

Members’ Principles of Conduct

Purpose Statement: These Principles of Conduct provide members of IFB with a general overview of expectations of them as stewards of Interfaith Food Bank. These principles are intended to complement any specific policies approved by the Board of Directors. IFB is committed to providing a safe and respectful workplace and meeting environment and will not tolerate any behaviour by members that constitutes harassment or violence of any kind.

Members:

  1. Are expected to deal with all individuals associated with IFB in a manner that demonstrates the values of a caring, diverse, and respectful community.
  2. Will positively promote and represent IFB and not engage in activities which would result in the reputation of IFB being negatively impacted, or function of the Society to be disrupted.
  3. Will uphold and commit to the IFB Confidentiality Agreement.
  4. Will refrain from any behaviour that constitutes harassment or violence of any kind.
  5. Are responsible for raising concerns about harassment, violence, and discrimination to the Executive Director, staff, or board members.

Membership Eligibility Criteria

  1. Applicant must be 18 years of age or older
  2. Must not be employed by the Society, or a spouse, child, parent, or sibling of an employee
  3. Applicant must reside within 100km of the City of Lethbridge
  4. Must be wiling to pay annual membership fee ($5.00)
