CANstruction is an anti-hunger project that was founded over 20 years ago by the Society for Design Administration, an affiliate organization of the American Institute of Architects. CANstruction events are now being held in more than 100 cities across North America. Teams of architects, engineers, designers, contractors, and students mentored by these professionals, compete to design and build giant structures made entirely from cans of food.
Once the event concludes the cans used to create the structures are donated to local food banks.
