Interfaith Food Bank Society of Lethbridge (IFB) solicits and accepts gifts appropriate to their mission and mandate, in accordance with IFB Guiding Principles, Food Banks Canada Standards of Excellence and relevant legislation.
IFB solicits and accepts gifts for purposes that will help to further and fulfill its mission.
Anyone seeking or receiving funds on behalf of IFB, whether they are a volunteer, employee, or contracted third party, must:
All gifts must have purposes that align with IFB’s mission and priorities. Donations and/or contributions may not be accepted if there are conditions attached that are deemed inappropriate or that the organization is unable to fulfill.
IFB encourages donors to seek independent advice if the proposed gift is a Planned Gift and/or may significantly affect the donor’s financial position, taxable income or relationship with family members.
Gifts-in-kind will be valued at their fair market value and tax receipts will be issued in accordance with the regulatory requirements of Canada Revenue Agency and the Charities Directorate.
When donating a restricted or designated gift IFB will honor, to the fullest extent possible, the donor’s intent. Endowments will be invested according to the IFB Investment Policy and IFB may offer Naming Rights for a program, activity, or capital asset as a form of Donor Recognition.
