Interfaith Food Bank Society of Lethbridge relies heavily upon donations of food, from within our community. We are only able to give what we receive.
Non-Perishable Food Items
Non-perishable food items are essential for our food bank. They help fill up our hampers and add to our pick room. For list of our most wanted items, check out this list. We accept non-perishable food items whose best before date has past. We do not accept damaged cans or unlabled products. Check out our Food Drive Tool Kit for information on running a food drive for non-perishable food items.
Fresh Produce
Fresh produce is an important part of a healthy diet. When fresh produce comes in, it will either go to our pick room, or go to our Food Recovery program where it will be made into delicious new things for our clients.
Protein
Project Protein is a program designed to source animals from the livestock industry to be processed into ground meat for food bank families. We also accept other types of protein including frozen/fresh meat, and eggs, both of which go into our hampers.
Dairy
Dairy is another part of a healthy diet that is often overlooked when people think about donating food.
Halal Friendly
Our community has grown and changed in the past years. For this reason, the Interfaith Food Bank has begun accommodating for those with dietary limits. We are in need of halal friendly food.
Personal Hygiene
We provide clients with personal hygiene items to help bring down their monthly costs, and help them stay clean and healthy. This includes toothbrushes, tooth paste, feminine hygiene, adult diapers, deodorant, and shampoo and conditioner.
